Round 6 Walling stage begins!

By Tama-Neko 04/27/2008

Which?Waller Round 6 begins!
Round 6's theme is Schoolhouse Rock
Your wallpaper must be a scenic wallpaper that takes place at a middle or high school (grades 7-12, about ages 12-18). Any series/characters (or even no characters if you so choose) are acceptable. Characters do not need to be students/teachers/faculty/etc, but it would probably be a little odd for them to be hanging out in a school otherwise.
Common places in a school where you might set your scene include:

  • Classrooms
  • Hallways
  • Locker rooms
  • Cafeterias
  • Gyms/pools
  • Teacher's Lounge
  • Rooftop
  • Various exterior locations, ie sporting field/track, school entrance, school yard, etc.
Space Academies and other non-traditional schools, as long as the are geared for middle/highschoolers (ie the Stellvia academy) and are specifically an institution of learning (in other words, not merely a place where middle/highschoolers might hang around), are also acceptable.

Don't forget to use the attached sig on all your submissions!

You have until June 8th to submit your walls!
Good luck!

Use this Minitokyo thread to discuss.

Since I've only received a handful of wallpapers so far for this round, I am extending the walling deadline for Round 5: Leap Year, until April 12th. That gives you an extra week to make those Keroro walls!

Round 5 Walling Stage begins!

Round 5 begins!

Round 5's theme is Leap Year*! That's right, we're celebrating that odd once-every-four-years day of February 29th. Sure, you don't get the day off or have any parades (although if your birthday is the 29th, you finally get to celebrate on the day itself) -- but it's a rare enough event to get at least a little more notice.mu
Because Leap Year tends to be symbolized by a frog, this round your wallpaper must feature artwork from the series Keroro Gunsou (Sgt. Frog) and contain at least one (1) of the frogs. Any and all styles of wallpapers are accepted; the wall can feature official manga or anime artwork, professional doujinshi from the series or your own drawings for the show. You can submit as many wallpapers as you like; you have 1 month in which to do so (see the Events Calendar for dates). Be sure to include the which?waller round 5 signature in the bottom of your wall.
Use this thread to discuss.

Good luck, wallers!

*Note: This would have made more sense if I had kept to the original schedule, in which Round 5 was supposed to start March 1. Oh well.

Here are the results for Round 4!
Maplerose had it easy, and used that to her advantage to guess all of the walls correctly -- on her first try, no less! Gaara-no-Shukaku and Piccolobear also scored highly; in all, 4 out of 7 guessers got a 50% or better on their first list.

Here's who made each wall:
Wall 1: Maplerose and Kitten
Wall 2: Maplerose and Mirinee
Wall 3: Maplerose and Gaara-no-shukaku
Wall 4: Abul and Piccolobear
Wall 5: Myrhhlynn and Piccolobear
Wall 6: Gaara-no-shukaku and Kitten
Wall 7: Maplerose and Chloe-chan
Wall 8: Myrhhlynn and Piccolobear
Wall 9: Chubbykitty and BBshadowneko

Here's a breakdown on how guessable each wall was:

Here is a list of the participants:

When sending your guesses, please use the following format:

Wall 1: Waller A, Waller B
Wall 2: Waller C, Waller, B
...
Wall 9: Waller E, Waller X

Because I will be away 2/27-2/29, I am extending the guessing deadline to 3/4. Start sending in those guesses!

Round 4 walling stage begins!

Round 4 of w?w has begun!

THEME: This time around, the theme is coupling. This means that your submission must be a collaborative work between you and one other person. This is an excellent opportunity for past w?w participants to bring in new folks to the fun. Your submission must also feature two (and only two) people. They can have any relationship to each other: lovers, siblings, mortal enemies, etc. With Valentine's Day (and White Day) coming up, there should be plenty of fodder -- if you choose the romantic angle, at least.

SUBMISSIONS: Each group of two people may submit either a single collaborative wallpaper, or one wallpaper per waller (for a total of two walls) where both wallers have worked on some components in each wall. All wallpapers must be at least 1280x1024 and include the w?w round 4 signature in the bottom left corner. When submitting wallpapers, both wallers must PM Tama-Neko with the submission information, to confirm collaboration.

GUESSING: For the guessing round, you will have to guess both wallers who made the wall to get full points. Otherwise the guessing round will continue as before.

DATES: You have 6 weeks to submit your walls, to allow time for the collaboration -- so get talking! See the Events Calendar for all the details.

DISCUSS: Use this Minitokyo thread to discuss the round, ask questions, etc.

Results are in for Round 3!
Our busybee this round was Maplerose! She was the one who made six walls! Also a busy bee in the guessing round, she scored an accuracy of 66.67%! Close behind her was gaara-no-shukaku who scored 61%.
Of the walls, alterlier's was the most recognizable -- everyone guessed her correctly! K1ru has the least recognizable wall -- no one guessed correctly on the Burger King wall.
See the graphic for all the walling results, or visit the results archive.
Thanks to everyone for participating, and see you next round!
